To find the mass of one mole, percent compositions of every element must be added together.
Milk is an example of a colloid, which is when microscopic particles are suspended in a solution.Would a substance be considered an element?

-Percent composition can be defined as the percent by mass of each element present in a compound.
-From the videos, I learned that solution is a homogeneous mixture composed of 2 or more substances.
– Is atom a homogenous?

Yes because it is the smallest possible part of an element, they all look same and cant be broken down.

An isomer is a molecule with the same molecular formula as another molecule, but are put together in a different way. Isomer’s have different properties.
Matter is broken into two categories, substance and mixture. A substance is pure and a mixture is impure.

Substances are chemically bonded and mixtures are not chemically bonded.

Percent Composition is also known as mass percent, and is found by dividing the mass of the part by the total mass.
Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass. It can be separated into substances and mixtures. Substances, which are homogeneous, can be separated into atoms and molecules. Mixtures can either be heterogeneous and look like 2 or more things or homogeneous (known as a solution) and only appear to contain one thing. Two types of heterogeneous mixtures are colloids, which have microscopic particles suspended in them, and suspensions, which contain large visible particles that are generally settled.

To find the mass percentage of an element in a substance, divide the mass of the element by the total mass of the substance.
Elements are made of atoms and can all be found on the periodic table of elements.

*Answer to Amber’s question: Yes, an element would be a substance. Substances are made of a definite composition. There are two types of substances: elements and compounds.
Percent composition can also be called percent by mass or mass percent. To find the percent composition, divide the mass of the part by the total mass and multiple it by 100.
There are two types of special heterogeneous mixtures – colloid and suspension. Colloids look like a solution but have microscopic particles suspended in liquid. Suspensions have large particles that tend to settle.
